The MTN Elite One Playoffs will enter it’s second playing day this Thursday May 18, 2023, at the Reunification Stadium in Douala, Littoral region of Cameroon.
Two matches will be on program; Gazelle versus Canon and Bamboutos of Mbouda against Coton Sport of Garoua.
Bamboutos of Mbouda won in their first outing with a 2#1 victory against Canon of Yaounde while Coton Sports picked up a 1#0 victory against Gazelle.
With Bamboutos and Coton having three points each, their clash this Thursday could be the match to decide the title favorites.
Victory for Bamboutos or for Coton will place either of them at a comfortable spot to win the title and represent Cameroon in the CAF Champions League.

Yves Clement Arroga of Bamboutos of Mbouda
51-year-old Yves Clement Arroga officially took over as head coach of Bamboutos of Mbouda as head coach on March 7, 2023.
The charismatic coach has brought in his own flare to the playing style of the Mangwa Boys.
Jean Baptiste Bisseck of Coton Sports of Garoua
The former Canon of Yaounde coach, Jean Baptiste Bisseck who only took over as head coach of Coton not long ago will want to win his first domestic trophy for Coton.
Players to watch out for
Bamboutos of Mbouda will need it’s thousand of supporters to stand by them as usual and cheer their players up.
William Ekanga Lobe who put up a man of the match performance against Canon will have to fill the gap again in the absence of Junior Kemajou. William Ekanga Lobe was awarded the Man of the Match award after he starred against Canon and scoring a sublime goal in the first half.
Ali Lamin Betoro A Dang
Ali Lamin Betoro was also a standout performer in Bamboutos’ match against Canon. He created a lot of scoring opportunities for his team mates in the course of the match after opening scores in the 9th minute of the match.
Patient Wassou
After failing to impress last time out against Gazelle and missing a glaring scoring opportunity, Patient Wassou is still a player to watch out for. He will have to be on top of his game to help his team.
Che Malone Fondoh
Nicknamed ‘minister of defense ‘, Che Malone is also a player to watch out for in the match. His defensive prowress earned him the man of match award in their first match. Che Malone has to remain Coton’s defense king to gave them maximum points.
