Authentic Ladies of Douala defender Odette Chahkes Fukuin has called on the club’s fans to inspire their side to a victory when they host Eding Filles in the Guinness Super League this weekend.
Authentic Ladies head into the match day 15 fixture as the third-placed side, on the heels of a massive 2-1 win away to FAP last weekend in Yaounde.
With matches against fellow title-chasing Lekie and Éclair to come in the next the weeks ahead, Chahkes wants the fans at the Japoma Annex stadium to get behind the team as they enter a pivotal part of the campaign.
“We’ve rarely lost games at home, so that shows how important the support has been,” Chahkes told kick442.com. “For me, every game excites me, whether it’s a home game or played away.
“Our fans are fantastic, so we’ll need them to be behind us and I’m sure that together we can get the three points.”
Authentic Ladies had the better of Eding Filles in the reversed fixture in Yaounde. They will be looking forward to completing a double against 7th placed Eding Filles this weekend in Douala to to stay with touching distance of the leaders Lekie and Éclair who are not having it easy since the resumption of the second segment of the championship.
Authentic Ladies with 26 points are six points off second-placed Eclair Filles’ and nine points behind leaders Lekie but have their eyes set on a top three finish in just their second season in the Guinness Super League.
Chahkes has been one of the most reliable players at the club with 11 appearances in 14 games so far.
