Cameroonian forward Ako Alexis has completed a transfer to Al-Ahly Sports Club Wad Madani, one of Sudan’s historic football institutions, marking a new chapter in his professional career after an impressive spell with Stade Renard FC of Melong.

kick442.con learnt via Tiko Magazine that the 27-year-old attacker, known for his sharp movement and eye for goal has joint the Wad Madani-based outfit ahead of the 2025 Sudan Premier League campaign.

His signing is seen as a statement of intent from Al-Ahly, who continue to strengthen their squad as they aim for a strong league finish this season.

A rising star from Cameroon’s Elite One

Ako Alexis enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign with Stade Renard, where he produced 15 goal contributions (10 goals and 5 assists) — a return that made him one of the most effective forwards in the MTN Elite One. His performances consistently caught the eye for their blend of pace, composure, and ability to influence games in decisive moments.

The forward’s versatility — being able to play both as a central striker and from the wings — made him a key figure for the Melong-based club. His form also drew attention from clubs across North and East Africa before Al-Ahly Wad Madani eventually secured his signature.

From TKC to Sudan: A career built on steady progress

Before his rise at Stade Renard, Ako represented TKC of Yaoundé, a club once home to Liberian legend George Weah during his early years in Cameroon.
