The captain of Nigeria senior men’s national team, Ahmed Musa’s future with the team is still not certain.

The 31 year old forward gave a hint of his retirement during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

During the Super Eagles first pre match press conference ahead of their first group match at 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Equatorial Guinea on Saturday.

“It is my big dream to win AFCON again and also as a captain,”he said during his interaction with the media on Saturday.

“No human can predict tomorrow, we shall see what happens next.”

Musa became the first Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match, after scoring twice against Argentina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

He is also the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cup competitions, after scoring twice against Iceland in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Sivasspor player has played more than 100 games for the Super Eagles.

He is Nigeria’s most capped player since November 2021.
