Cotonsport of Garoua defender Che Malone Fondoh Junior has stated he is willing to give more to motivate his mates to go extra miles to get a result against Sudanese side Al Hilal SC of Omdurman.

Cotonsport will host their Sudanese Group B rivals on Friday at the Roumde Adjia stadium, hoping to do better than the result achieved in match day two.

Che is hopeful they can inspire Cotonsport to relaunch their season through his performance, just a week after they lost to Sundowns.

“I am confident. We have a good team. I am very optimistic. We had a meeting to discuss what went wrong last time. My mates and I will give everything to win the game. We have to take this opportunity to perform to put ourselves on the spotlight. Tomorrow you will see a different Cotonsport.

“We are playing at home. In front of our own supporters. We disappointed them last time and have to do all it takes to win the three points to give joy to our fans.

Malone insisted the defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns doesn’t cause any panic in their ranks as there is more to come.

“We still have five games and others have four left. We start with the game tomorrow (Friday). I am sure that Hilal knows, we are a great team in Africa. We want to keep our names high.”

The 2008 CAF Champions League finalist last made it out of their group in 2014 and reached the semi-final of that year. A result for either side will be massive in their quest to reach the last eight.

Despite playing away, Hilal enters the game with high hopes as the former Union Sportive of Douala and Continental of Buea sweeper explained;

“We know about the weight of the game tomorrow. They come as favorites after winning against Ahly, Africa’s best team.

“We felt bad after the first game. But when we started preparing for the second game, we forgot about everything. We cannot remain on that. We learn when we lose.”

Che and co are expected to take these lessons into the sixth CAF interclub competitions meeting with Hilal while hoping to be the third set of players that win against Hilal who will be also out in search of their third win against Cotonsport.

The fixture kick-off at 5pm local Time on Friday, February 24 at the Roumde Adjia stadium in Cameroon’s prestigious North region city of Garoua.
