Cameroonian coach Mesack Njoya Mauril has been unveiled as the new head coach of DR Congo Premier League side AS Maniema Union after completing a move from Malian giants Stade Malien of Bamako.

The ambitious Congolese club confirmed the appointment on a contract running until 2029, entrusting the experienced tactician with leading their domestic title challenge and continental ambitions.

Njoya arrives in Kindu with an impressive coaching résumé built across several African leagues. The Cameroonian has won league titles in Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Mauritania, establishing himself as one of the continent’s most accomplished coaches before adding another successful chapter in Mali.

His stock rose even further last season after masterminding a memorable CAF Champions League campaign with Stade Malien. Njoya guided the Bamako-based club to the quarter-finals for the first time in their history, topping a difficult group that included Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis and underlining his tactical credentials against some of Africa’s elite clubs.

Those achievements made him one of the most sought-after Cameroonian coaches on the continent, with AS Maniema Union moving quickly to secure his services ahead of a crucial campaign.

The 2029 project comes with significant expectations. Njoya has been tasked with challenging for the Linafoot title while also steering Maniema Union to a successful CAF Confederation Cup campaign, where the club will be aiming to make a deep run under the guidance of the experienced Cameroonian.
