Dynamo of Douala’s Arrey Jefter Oduak provided the assist for Konrad Fanseu’s early goal in the second test match for home-based players called up to the national team, as David Pagou continued preparations for the March international break.
Fanseu scored just two minutes into the encounter against Canon Sportif of Yaoundé, converting Jefter’s delivery to give Pagou’s selection their only goal across the two friendly matches played at the end of the training camp.
Jefter, the former captain of ISOHSA, returns to his club with a positive note after contributing to the lone goal scored by the local selection during the five-day training programme.
The camp, which brought together 30 home-based players under Indomitable Lions head coach David Pagou, officially ended on March 10, 2026, in Yaoundé.
As part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA Series international friendly tournament, Pagou worked with the locally based players from March 6, assessing their abilities and determining who could earn a place in the national squad for upcoming matches.
Konrad Fanseu, a 2025 Cameroon Ballon d’Or nominee and key player for Panthère Sportive du Ndé, scored the only goal during the test games. He featured in the second match against Canon alongside players such as Victoria United’s Ghangle Rattensi, Dynamo’s Arrey Jefter, Gazelle goalkeeper Housseini Ousmanou, Mael Fernandez, and Dynamo’s Joseph Alexandre Nde, who wore the captain’s armband.
Fanseu played a major role in a historic season for Panthère Sportive du Ndé, helping the club win the Cameroon Cup and finish runners-up in the league last season. He recorded six goals and eight assists in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the architects of the club’s impressive campaign.
Cameroon will take part in the second edition of the FIFA Series international friendly tournament later this month. On March 27, the Indomitable Lions will face Australia at Accor Stadium in Sydney, where the Socceroos are expected to test Cameroon with their physical style and high-tempo play.
The Lions will then travel to Melbourne to take on China at AAMI Park on March 31. These matches will play an important role in Cameroon’s preparations for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers following their failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Beyond the results, the friendlies will also provide Pagou and his coaching staff with an opportunity to improve the team’s FIFA ranking while strengthening cohesion within the squad.
