The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has hailed Morocco’s hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations as a landmark achievement for African and Arab football, praising the country’s organisation, infrastructure and hospitality throughout the tournament.

In a message addressed to Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the EFA said the tournament’s success reflected the “great level of development” Morocco has reached in staging major sporting events, describing it as a benchmark for future competitions on the continent.

According to the Egyptian FA, Morocco’s delivery of the tournament went beyond national success, representing “a source of pride and honour for the entire Arab world” and offering a model for how African football can be elevated to more professional and distinguished levels. Investment in infrastructure, logistical planning and operational standards was evident across venues, training facilities and supporter services.

The statement also highlighted the warmth of the reception given to the Egyptian national team during its stay in Morocco, noting the positive impact of popular support on players and officials alike. The EFA said the hospitality shown to the Egyptian delegation reflected the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Moroccan peoples.

Looking ahead, the Egyptian FA expressed confidence that football leaders in both countries would continue to work closely together to advance shared ambitions, strengthen cooperation and raise the profile of Arab football in continental and international competitions.

The message was signed by Engineer Hany Abo Rida, Chairman of the Egyptian FA Board, underscoring the significance of the gesture at the highest administrative level of Egyptian football.
