Under-20 Indomitable Lionesses head coach Hassan Balla A has expressed excitement and appreciation about the Union of Central African Football Federation (UNIFFAC)’s move to train women’s national team coaches of the region for the first time in the body’s history.

The nominee for the 2024 CAF trainer of the year was speaking this Thursday Morning at the Vallee de Prince Hotel in Douala, Cameroon after the capacity building workshop for women’s U-20 and senior national team coaches was opened by president Jean-Guy Blaise Mayolas.

Reacting to questions from the media, the three-time winner of Cameroon’s Women top-flight championship showered praises on organizations while stating his expectations.

“I am very happy with this event and the opportunity to reinforce our capacities. Learning never ends, so this is an opportunity for us to learn more about the various aspects of the game,” the 2024 U-20 FIFA World Cup quarter-finalists revealed.

Hassan went ahead to reveal her expectations. I hope to leave here with a lot from the instructors. We are already working on the difference between management and leadership of a football team. It’s aspects like this that leaves us hunger for more and I hope by the time we leave here we will have more knowledge for our teams and players,” he added before sharing his thoughts about Cameroon’s and Cameroonian nominees in contention for the women’s African footballer of the year award whose nominees were revealed on Wednesday.

“I am very happy but not surprised to be nominated given Cameroon’s great performance at the World cup. I am also happy for the players and myself. I believe we have our chance to win because of the work done and I believe we will win it, why not the three awards?’ the former Caiman Filles and Awa Filles FC coach who is technical director at Authentic Ladies revealed.

Hassan returned into the hall for a continuation of the three-day event which is expected to run till Saturday, November 23 and enrich the 12 coaches drawn from the different UNIFFAC member associations.

Only in August this year, UNIFFAC trained medical Officer, media officers, aspiring Referees, coaches and security officers in DR Congo during the sidelines of the African Schools championship. The ongoing event in Douala started with a workshop for National Technical Directors for six of the eight countries of the sub region.
