Cameroon’s Carine Atezambong Fomo has been handed her second assignment of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, further underlining her importance among the tournament’s international match officials.

Atezambong will serve as Assistant Referee 2 when Spain face New Caledonia in Match 23 at Arena Sosnowiec on Thursday.

The appointment comes after the experienced Cameroonian official already featured in the tournament’s Japan versus Australia encounter, meaning she is now preparing for her second match of the competition.

Namibia’s Twanyanyukwa Antsino will referee the Spain-New Caledonia encounter, with Zambia’s Diana Chikotesha as Assistant Referee 1 and Atezambong completing the assistant refereeing team.

Uganda’s Shamirah Nabadda has been appointed fourth official, while Rwanda’s Salima Mukansanga will serve as Video Assistant Referee.

Atezambong’s involvement is another significant achievement for Cameroon’s refereeing fraternity. The FIFA-listed official has built a remarkable international résumé, including appearances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and major CAF competitions.

Her latest appointments in Poland continue a journey that has seen her become one of Cameroon’s most prominent female officials on the global stage.

For Atezambong, Thursday’s assignment offers another opportunity to showcase her experience and consistency — and once again carry Cameroon’s flag onto the FIFA stage.
