The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has picked Uganda and Namibia dominated match officials to arbitrate the third round Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier tie pitting the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on February 23 and 26 in Douala and Abuja respectively.
kick442.com received grapevine information this Tuesday, February 20 that Uganda’s Sharmirah Nabadda will lead a team of Ugandan quartet of on-field officials.
Nabadda who officiated a number of matches in the last AWCON tournament in Morocco. She has been assigned alongside compatriots Lydia Nantabo, Jane Mutonyi, and Diana Murungi, who will serve as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2, and fourth official, respectively.
Morocco’s Khadija Rezzag gets the notch as the game’s referee assessor, while Lukusa Kanjinga from the Democratic Republic of Congo will be the match commissioner.
The third round meeting of Nigeria and Cameroon in their quest to secure a ticket in women’s Football in the Paris 2024 Olympic games is a remake of the 2012 games which Cameroon won on post-match penalties to progress to the London games.

The nine-time African champions, Nigeria are seeking a first appearance at the Women’s Olympic games in 16 years.
Cameroon was the stumbling block via a penalty shootout win in 2012 after which they lost to Equatorial Guinea in the Rio 2016 qualifiers and Cote d’Ivoire in Tokyo while Cameroon is hoping to return to the games for the first time in 12 years.
Coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck’s Cameroon team already missed out the Morocco 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifier and will be hoping to make amends via the Nigeria clash while for Nigeria’s coach Randy Waldrum it’s a fitting occasion to announce his comeback and demonstrate the resilience of his team at the last FIFA World Cup wasn’t a fluke.
