On loan with Rennes from Lyon since January 2023, Karl Toko Ekambi may be heading to Turkey after Rennes decided not to keep him.

The Cameroonian international who scored for Cameroon in their recent friendly against Mexico is also on the list of players shortlisted by his mother club Lyon to be transferred.

Kick442.com has gathered that the Cameroonian, 30, may be joining Besiktas Istanbul, who has decided not to extend the contract of George Kevin Nkoudou.

According to Small Bizze Management, Karl Toko Ekambi’s national teammate and captain, Vincent Aboubakar, is mounting pressure for his compatriot to be recruited.

In the just ended season, Karl Toko Ekambi made 17 appearances for Rennes scoring 3 goals and 2 assists.

Born in France, Karl Toko Ekambi made his international debut for Cameroon in 2015 representing the nation at the African Cup of Nations in 2017, 2019 and 2021, winning the 2017 tournament. He also played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
