‎Journalist kick442.com – Cameroon

‎The whistle has blown in the capital! This Friday, Yaoundé was not just the seat of government; it became the epicenter of African 7-a-side football. Making a stop for its “Continental Tour,” the African 7-a-side Football Confederation (AFC7) made a bold move, with an announcement that is already rocking the stands: Cameroon is heading to the World Cup in Honduras next month!

‎A Prestigious Audience: The “Number 10” Jersey at the Ministry

‎The day kicked off with a high-level diplomatic offensive. A powerhouse team—the true “starting lineup” of small-sided football administration—stepped onto the porch of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education. The AFC7 delegation was proudly composed of:

‎ Mr. Jacques Bamga, President of AFC7 and leader of this mission;

‎ Mr. Cyriack Boyomo, Secretary General and strategist for continental development;

‎ Mr. Bernard Bassong, Director of Partnerships, the architect of strategic alliances;

‎ Accompanied by the executive members of AFCA7 (Cameroonian 7-a-side Football Association).

‎Their host, Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, received a highly symbolic gift from their hands: a pristine white jersey featuring the number 10and his name, MOUELLE. This gesture, immortalized by the presentation of a trophy, seals the alliance between the Cameroonian government and the continental body to transform 7-a-side football into a pillar of national sporting influence.

‎Objective Honduras: Lions on Top of the World

‎The real thrill came a few hours later during an electric press conference at Hotel Franco. The secret is out: Cameroon will compete in the 7-a-side Football World Cup in Honduras from May 27 to 30, 2026!

‎Imagine the stakes: in just one month, our technical masters of small-sided football will challenge the world’s elite in Central America. This is no longer just a promotional tour; it is a “commando mission” for the glory of the Green-Red-Yellow flag. Speaking to the media, Jacques Bamga and Cyriack Boyomo hammered home their vision: turning this World Cup appearance into a lasting legacy for Cameroonian youth.

‎Beyond the competition, the panel laid out a precise roadmap:

‎* Popularization: Bringing “7-a-side” out of the shadows to make it a showcase of pure entertainment.

‎ * Structuring: Implementing solid development programs across Central Africa.

‎ * Influence: Using the Honduras global stage to inspire a new generation of champions.

‎A Match That’s Just Getting Started!

‎As the AFC7 delegation leaves Yaoundé, they leave behind more than just memories and a legendary jersey; they leave a promise. A promise of a football that is closer to the fans, faster, and now backed by the highest levels of the State.

‎The date is set: Honduras will be the theater where Cameroonian genius must shine. Between the institutional wisdom of Minister Mouelle Kombi and the determination of AFC7, Cameroonian 7-a-side football has found its stride.

‎Get your flags ready: from May 27 to 30, we won’t just be spectators. We will be Lions ready to roar on the world stage. The kickoff has happened, and the best is yet to come!
