Uganda National Women’s team , Crested Cranes edged neighbors Rwanda 1-0 in the CAF Women’s Olympics qualifiers on Sunday evening.

Fazila Ikwaput scored the winner in extra time to silence the home fans at Kigali Pele Stadium.

Coming into this fixture ,the first leg had ended in a 3-3 stalemate with the final clash set to be a decider.

An intense atmosphere with both sides looking forward to grab a goal in the opening minutes.

The second stanza saw goals from Rwanda and Uganda flagged offside to take the game into extra time.

In the 100th minute , Israel based forward Nabweteme set up an accurate pass to Ikwaput putting the ball past She Amavubi custodian Angeline.

The victory means Uganda advance to the second round where they will face West Africa giants Cameroon.

The next round of qualifiers are scheduled to take place later this year in October.
