Former Manchester City and Cote d’Ivoire midfielder Yaya Toure Gnegneri has become the latest ex-professional footballer to obtain the UEFA Pro Licenced coach, kick442.com can report.
The multiple Premier League winner revealed his has obtained the highest coaching qualification globally recognised.
On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Yaya Touré shared this exciting news on his social media: “I am thrilled to announce that I have obtained my UEFA Professional License!”
“I have learned a lot while gaining the coaching qualification and now feel even more excited about what I can achieve as a coach,” the former Manchester City star who is now cleared for a job in any national team job in the world wrote.
He has since been handed the certificate which follows the end of course example and he appreciates his tutors.
“Thank you to all the tutors at The FA, as well as my close friends and family who have supported me,” the 2015 AFCON-winning midfielder added.
Since retiring in 2019, Yaya Touré has dedicated himself to transitioning into coaching. He has gained valuable experience, notably with Olimpik Donetsk in Ukraine (2020), Akhmat Grozny in Russia (2021), and within the technical staff of.
By obtaining this valuable credential, Yaya Touré joins the select group of Ivorian coaches holding this qualification, alongside his elder brother, Kolo Touré.
Recently, Yaya Touré joined the technical staff of Roberto Mancini, who leads the Saudi Arabian national team. On November 20, he also visited the players of Étoile Carouge, a team in Switzerland , thanks to his connections with Adrian Ursea, the club’s coach.
