Uganda will officially kickstart their journey for the 2024 Paris Olympic games when they host neighbors Rwanda.
This comes after the draw for the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers was conducted on Tuesday afternoon in Cairo ,Egypt.
The Crested cranes play Rwanda in the first round of the Olympic Qualifiers in a two legged tier.
This presents another opportunity for the pearl of Africa who were ejected out in the same round in the last Qualifiers while Rwanda didn’t feature.
The last time the two sides met , Uganda were eventual winners in a 2#0 victory in Njeru at the 2022 CECAFA Women’s championship.
It will be an uphill task where the winner on aggregate faces West Africa giants Cameroon in the second round.
The first round games are scheduled to take place between 10-18th.
Ethiopia and Tanzania among the other East Africa representatives play Chad and Congo respectively in the same round.
It should noted that Africa will only take 2 slots at Women’s Football Olympic football Tournament.
