Vincent Aboubakar finally got off the mark during his third stint at Besiktas after six weeks upon his return from Al Nasr.

Aboubakar scored the winner this Sunday as Besiktas narrowly-edged Ankaragücü to earn a 12th win in 23 games this season in the Turkish Super League.

The Vodafone Arena experienced the heroics of the Cameroonian again as his 55th minute goal made the home fans sing his name again.

The exciting contest was a slow burner that produced very little during the opening moments as both sides first adopted the cagey approach of observation and counter-attacking breaks.

Salih Ucan finally got the breakthrough goal 40 minutes into it with a wonderful strike that left Gökhan Akkan rooted to the spot.

Though Ankaragücü pushed for the equalizer during the final five minutes of the half, Aboubakar and his mates did enough to take the lead to the break.

Eight minutes upon recess, The Gambia’s Ali Sowe equalized for visiting Ankaragücü, rewarding their huge efforts and commitment during the start of the second-half.

Aboubakar quickly restored the one-goal cushion for the hosts, after he scored a first Turkish Super League goal in five games since his return.

The game finished 2-1 favor of coach Şenol Güneş’ side, thus earning progress to the third spot on the table for Besiktas who have accumulated 40 points so far.

Aboubakar counts 36 goals and nine assists in 72 games the Istanbul giants.
