  • ISOHSA recorded their fourth win in five outings at the 2023/24 MTN Elite Two championship playoffs following their 2-0 triumph against Unisport
  • Ikose Njuma and Ghangle Rattensi scored to obtain the victory that secured the team’s MTN Elite Two championship status
  • ISOHSA move top of the classification table with 13 points after the match day six victory

Ikose Njuma Conrad scored his eleventh goal of the season while Ghangle Rattensi got his first as Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe edged Unisport of Bafang by 2-0 this Wednesday to ensure they maintain their MTN Elite Two status for at least another year.

Njuma’s second half goal from the penalty spot added to an early strike from flying full-back Nko Ghangle Rattensi to ensure the Limbe boys earn their fourth win in six matches in the competition.

ISOHSA entered the match day six fixture at the Bafang Municipal stadium hoping to get at least a point to secure their status in the division, but cautious of the fact that a win could take them up to the top position in the championship.

As it has been the case in recent matches, the 2023 national interpools champions started the game on the front foot, dominating possession with their regular quick passes.

The first real opportunity of the contest fell to Ghangle in the far post and he made the most of it. The former Canon Yaoundé full-back drove a low shot into the bottom of the Unisport net to make it 1-0 after 14 minutes.

Agbor Takang Clinton and Njuma wasted a pair of chances to double the advantage thus leaving the score at 1-0 at half-time.

Njuma converted a 73rd minute penalty won by substitute forward Ndjock Martinez Brandon to double the advantage for the side that had dominated the evening.

The goal was Njuma’s eleventh of the glittering first season at ISOHSA during which he has missed five matches.

Ndjock saw his late efforts bounce off the woodwork and the goal line to leave the score at 2-0 till the end.

By the time the final whistle went ISOHSA was sure of another season in the MTN Elite Two championship. Not only did they secure maintenance in style, they have the top scorer of the competition in Njuma Conrad and highest assists provider in Albert Tiku and are top of the chart with 13 points.

Captain Ashu Brice and co wil cap their playoffs campaign against relegated Rangers on Saturday in Bafang.
