After putting up a good fight in Kinshasa,DR Congo, the U20 lions are back home with the trophy after emerging gold medalist at the Francophonie games.

Cameroon beat Burkina Faso 2-1 to win the title on Sunday, August 6. They returned home this Monday via the Yaoundé-Nsimalen airport with a course for celebration.

The delegation headed by Yvan Kenmoe under the auspices of the Minister of Sports and physical education, fetched Cameroon its 13th gold medal in the competition.

The Lions scored four goals in four outings, with Colombe’s Arthur Avom Ebong as highest scorer for Cameroon with two goals, one against Niger in the first meeting and the other in the final encounter this Sunday, netting the winning goal from the spot.

The like is Nembakia Peterpaul, Avom are those who left a mark in this competition and we’re on the lips on football lovers for putting up outstanding performances out there. The boys of coach Yvan all did great as their collective efforts paid off.

Cameroon were one of the French speaking countries that participated in the just ended DR Congo-organised competition , where they earned 12 gold medals, 13 silver and 14 bronze.
