- The duo join Getafe from Eclair of Sa’a
- Last month Getafe unveiled three other players from Éclair
- The club is hoping to achieve progress after the massive Cameroon influx
Spanish third tier side Getafe CD have completed formalities, signed and unveiled Cameroonian duo Atcha Toko Njoya and Victoire Ngono Marie picked up from Guinness Super League championship side Éclair of Sa’a.
Midfielder Toko and forward Ngono arrived in Spain last week after Getafe reached a preliminary agreement with president Christian Onana of Éclair, but it took no time for Getafe management to approve the signing of the experienced teenagers.
Toko has been captain of Éclair in the past two seasons and a full Cameroon international these days while Ngono had her breakthrough season last term – scoring regularly for coach Francis Koloko’s team.
“Toko and Ngono are the latest additions to our team. They join after playing the AWCON qualifying match with Cameroon, Welcome!,” the club wrote on Twitter.
The signing of both players takes the number of Cameroonians on their books to six – adding to Aboudi Jennifer, Camille Daha and Diana Nkada signed from Éclair last month and Raissa Mbappe who has been at the club since last season.
Toko and Ngono could make their debut for the club this weekend on the road to Guiniguada on match day five of the Segunda Federacion.
The transfer of the duo means Éclair have recorded six departures to Europe this close season window, given that Kevin Ossol joined FC Nantes Women’s team from the Sa’a outfit.
Over the past three seasons, Éclair have carved a niche in moulding and transferring players directly to Europe but remain performant in the domestic scene. Last year the club transferred Ngock Monique and Fatima Kone but finished runners-up in the Guinness Super League.
Unbeaten Getafe CD seat second in the South Regional pool after picking up eight points from a possible 12.
