- Cameroonian international Ndip Tambe has joined Kazakhstan Premier League side Yelimay Semey from JN Xingzhou
South west football Cameroon reports, the 29-year-old has penned down a one-year-deal with this Central Asian club.
Tambe spent the last two seasons at Jinan Xingzhou, a China League One club, where he scored 13 goals in 23 games in 2023.
He was one of the top scorers in the second tier of Chinese football, and helped his team finish seventh on the league table.
The former Sheriff Tiraspol player started his career at Njala Quan Sports Academy in Cameroon, before moving to Europe and playing for various teams in Slovakia, Turkey, Romania, and Moldova. He won the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon in 2017, and has scored 72 goals in 198 club appearances.
Tambe’s signing is a major coup for Yelimay Semey, as he brings experience, quality, and leadership to the team. He is expected to be the main goal threat for Yelimay Semey, as he has proven his scoring ability in various leagues and competitions.
Yelimay Semey, formerly known as Spartak Semey, is a Kazakh football club based in Semey. The club was founded in 1964, and has won the Kazakhstan Premier League three times, in 1994, 1995, and 1998.
However ,the club has suffered from financial difficulties and relegations in recent years, and has not played in the top flight since 2014. In 2023, the club changed its name back to Yelimay Semey, and won the Kazakhstan First Division, earning promotion to the Premier League.
They have played 12 matches so far this season, winning 6, drawing 3, and losing 3. They are third place on the league table, with 21 points.
