The MTN Elite One title race remains finely poised after Colombe Sportive du Dja et Lobo secured a crucial 3-1 victory over Unisport du Haut-Nkam on Matchday 22 at the Omnisports Stadium in Yaoundé.
Colombe made a dream start when defender Jude Enow opened the scoring after just six minutes, continuing his recent goalscoring form. Achille Fokem restored parity for Unisport from the penalty spot in the 21st minute, but Randy Ntuwe put the South Region side back in front ten minutes later before Patrick Edzimbi sealed the victory deep into stoppage time.
The result could prove decisive in the championship race. Colombe move onto 43 points, maintaining pressure on league leaders Unisport and keeping their title ambitions firmly alive with five matches remaining. Fellow contenders Dynamo de Douala are also on 43 points, setting up what promises to be a thrilling three-way battle for the crown.
The afternoon also belonged to Jude Enow. The defender has now scored in consecutive league matches for the first time this season. After famously finding the net directly from a corner kick against his former club, Victoria United FC, last weekend, he once again delivered by netting Colombe’s opener against Unisport.
With momentum building and every point carrying enormous significance, Colombe have sent a clear message to their title rivals. Five games remain, and the race for the 2026 MTN Elite One championship is far from over.
