Saturday- March 3 in Bafoussam, Coach Thomas Libiih has announced his resignation from the role of head coach of Racing of Bafoussam with immediate effect.

The gaffer took the decision hours after his side suffered a 0-2 defeat to visiting Rangers FC of Bafut, a result which caused some of the fans to aim insults at the 54-year-old.

“There’s something fundamentally wrong. The players are not giving their all. I think in such a case it is best to step aside and let others continue with the project. I don’t want to blame the previous staff about players recruitment but something which I can’t figure is wrong,” the former TKC and Options Sports Academy of Limbe trainer quoted by Vitrine de Sport.

Libiih arrive Bafoussam in early January as a replacement for Njie Biba Joseph who had been relieved by the club. In three matches in charge, he won one and lost two which has amounted to a huge inquest from the fans.

The former U-17 AFCON winner thus makes way for Racing to hire a third manager with hopes he can steady the ship and push for promotion which was their main goal before the start of the 2022/23 season.

Some sections of the clubs fans are clamouring for the return of Bernard Fotso who guided the club for two seasons and helped them reach the Elite One championship at the end of the 2021 campaign.
