The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has announced a major restructuring of the technical, administrative and medical staff of the U-17 Indomitable Lions ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.

Former U-17 AFCON-winning coach Thomas Libii has been named head coach of the Young Indomitable Lions. Libii led Cameroon to their historic triumph at the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and now returns with the responsibility of preparing the team for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

In its official statement, FECAFOOT said: “These adjustments are in line with the performance drive initiated by the Federal Executive, aimed at providing this team with the best possible preparation conditions ahead of upcoming competitions, namely the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.”

Jean René Eyoum has been appointed assistant coach, while Alain Roger Nseme will serve as fitness coach and Ernest Mabouka takes charge of goalkeeping duties. Dr Brice Edjenguele has been named team doctor.

The medical staff is completed by physiotherapists Salvadore Leumen Nya and Ronald Léo Yao Boujike. Stéphane Kingue Mpondo will serve as team manager, Nasser Souleymanou Abdou has been appointed press officer, Barthelemy Boris Mbusnum will oversee security matters, and Yacinthe Bahoro has been named kit manager.

FECAFOOT congratulated the newly appointed officials and also thanked the outgoing members of staff for their dedication, professionalism and services rendered to Cameroonian football.

Thomas Libii’s first major assignment will be to guide the U-17 Indomitable Lions at the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar as Cameroon seeks another successful chapter in youth football.
