Tengemo at it again as Fortuna, YOSA share spoils
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda skipper, Tengemo Emmanuel was on target Wednesday, March 8, 2023, for his side YOSA as they have held to a one-all draw by AS Fortuna of Mfou in an advance day 16 fixture of the MTN Elite 1 championship.

Against the run of play, AS Fortuna opened scores in the 11th minute of the match when Martin Loic Ako Assomo took advantage of a loose ball near the 18-yard area to fire past goalkeeper Ekoi Manfred to give his side the lead.

Despite the goal, YOSA continued to dominate possession and created many scoring opportunities.

However, these opportunities were not concretized by Tengemo Emmanuel, Akoh Calistus, Njongmu Rudolf, and Mael Dindjeke as AS Fortuna went into the break with the lead.

In the second half of the match, coach Anumewa Franklin brought in Ade Mienolf, Fang Englebert, and Yuninsi Vitalis in place of Yannick Kayak, Yuninsi Vitalis and Njongmu Rudolf.

The substitution paid off as YOSA continued to mount pressure on AS Fortuna. Fang Englebert on several occasions from the right flank caused a lot of problems on the AS Fortuna defense. In the 79th minute of the match, Fang Englebert delivered a cross to Mael Dindjeke who was fouled in the 18-yard area as YOSA won a penalty.

Tengemo Emmanuel, YOSA’s Mr. Consistent stepped up to score from the penalty spot; his 5th goal of the season. After the goal, YOSA came close to scoring again through Fang Englebert but his shot went off target.

Martin Loic Ako Assomo, Ignace Martial, and Mbollo also had some chances but they all failed to take advantage of them. AS Fortuna and YOSA now have 17 points on the classification table.
