  • Astre de Douala conceeded their 10th goal of the season, in their game against Gazelle of Garoua, on Wednesday, October 25.
  • With ten goals scored, and ten goals conceded in six games, the Brazilians of Bepanda have the worst defensive record in the Elite One.

A one all tie with Gazelle de Garoua on Wednesday at the reunification annex stadium, means Les Astre de Douala have now conceded at least a goal in all their six league appearances this season.

The side has been classified as the worst defense, one of the rare clubs to not have a clean sheet since the start of the championship.

The Brazilians of Bepanda, started off their elite Campaign with a 2-1 win over Aigle de la Menoua, conceding three goals in a highly contested fixture against Dynamo on match day two, before playing a two all tie against AS fortuna in Yaoundé.

Against Canon sportive, the boys of coach Ernest Agbor still faltered defensively, conceding one goal in their 2-1 win.

Match day five game against Colombe was not any better, with Rodrique Tchatchoua and teammates carelessly allowing two goals. Marius Kada’s strike is the latest to go pass Patrick Hamadjam.

Speaking to the press after a not so desirable draw against Gazelle in an advanced match day six fixture, coach, Ernest Agbor , hopes to ameliorate this record ahead of future games.

“We have one of the best attacks and in the game of football, it’s important for you to have the advantage over your opponents, so we have to continue to work. Last time we conceded two goals , this time around it’s just one. We will continue to work with some of those defensive sub principles to ameliorate on our defensive game”.

According to the championship program, Les Astre will clash with fellow brothers Union on Match day seven.
