Former YOSA and PWD of Bamenda head coach Martin Nkabyo has been appointed head coach of newly-promoted MTN Elite Two championship franchise, Bafmeng United FA of the Northwest.
The appointment was confirmed on Tuesday, October 24 after the management reached a conscientious with him to replace coach Soh Simplice, who helped the club achieve promotion to the second tier championship.
Coach Soh left the club last week to join Panthere of Nde after a successful season.
The decision to replace him with a more experienced coach Nkabyo marks the return of the ex-Tiko United FC and EEMSA of Tiko trainer to management after over a year away.
Bafmeng is pitted in Pool A of the championship alongside alongside old guards Renaissance FC of Ngoumou, YAFOOT FC, TKC, Aigle Royal of Moungo, Racing Bafoussam, Unisport of Bafang and regional rivals Foncha Street FC.
The newcomers will open their season against Foncha Street FC in a highly-awaited derby this Saturday in Bamenda in what will be coach Nkabyo’s first in the Bafmeng United dogout.
Bafmeng United FA is one of three Elite Two clubs in the Northwest Region.
