21-year-old Enzo Gianni Tchato Mbiayi has extended his contract at his French club Montpellier HSC, kick442.com has gathered from club sources.

A press release issued on Tuesday confirmed the Cameroon international has signed another extension, barely months after he was given a new contract.

Though Montpellier officials failed to announce the duration of the new contract, it is now confirmed that Tchato will be a part of the club in the years to come.

Speaking in the communiqué, Tchato said he was “immensely proud” to have extended his deal, adding that it “shows the club’s confidence” in him.

Tchato made 17 appearances for the first team this season, operating as a right-back and right midfielder. He became a more regular fixture in Michel Der Zakarian’s side as the season has progressed. He made 17 appearances at right-back for Les Héraults as they once again confirmed their status as a Ligue 1 team for next season. In all he made 39 appearances for Montpellier’s first team.

Tchato, the son of former international, Bill Tchato, has won six caps for his country and who played at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire.
