Emilio Nsue, suspended captain of the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea has opened up on a plethora of problems that rocked the camp of the national team during their AFCON expedition in Cote D’Ivoire.

Emilio Nsue was suspended by the Equatorial Guinea Football Federation, FEGUIFOOT, alongside his teammate Ivan Salvador for what the federation terms “indiscipline”.

After his suspension, the player took to his Instagram account to open up on the “can of worms”.

“Before the match against Nigeria, the players did not have any outfits ready. The equipment used in the national team is paid by the players and not the Federation. The FA threatened certain local players and taking money from them but I said no and this is unfair and they humiliated me and throw me out. The National team is above everything and everyone”, Nsue wrote on Instagram.

Emilio Nsue added that his country has been ungrateful to him noting that since he received his top scorer award, only the Ivorian authorities have congratulated him.

“The only congratulations I received when I got my top scorer award came from the Ivorian authorities. My country Equatorial Guinea has been ungrateful to me”, he wrote.

The suspended captain also added that football authorities in Equatorial Guinea want to change the sports project and bring in Brazilians.

Emilio Nsue also disclosed that the officials syphoned money meant for players.

“These cancerous and corrupt people who manage football in Equatorial Guinea took 1 million euros for themselves by leaving the national team in bad conditions”, he added.

Emilio Nsue finished as top scorer at AFCON 2023 in Cote D’Ivoire scoring five goals and helped his team to reach the round of 16 of the competition.
