St. Eloi Lupopo produced a stunning performance to beat South African side Orlando Pirates 3-0 in their CAF Champions League clash.
The Congolese side drew first blood early, with Wanet Kashala striking in the 3rd minute to give Lupopo the lead. From there, they controlled the game, pressing high and forcing errors from the visitors.
The second half saw Lupopo extend their advantage. Dramane Kambou doubled the lead in the 70th minute, before Jean Benoit Tukumbane sealed the emphatic win in the 88th minute.
Goalkeeper Simon Omossola was a key figure for the home side, keeping a clean sheet with several important saves to frustrate Orlando Pirates’ attempts to respond.
The victory marks a major statement for Lupopo, showcasing both attacking efficiency and defensive solidity. Orlando Pirates now face an uphill battle in the return leg.
