Skipper Tabe Brenda Ebika scored twice and won the player of the match award as Cameroon’s U20 edged their Panama counterparts by 3-1 in their third group game of the 2023 South Ladies Cup this Sunday at the Parc de Sports Avignon.
Tabe who also scored in the previous game against France scored in either half while Kiki Meva also found the back of the Panama net in between a goal from Cargill.
Cameroon entered the game in full confidence having won against France in the previous round of matches.
Coach Ndoumou Mike’s team took just nine minutes to score the opener through Tabe who made it 1-0 for the Cameroon sider that had dominated the opening moments.
The early goal helped Cameroon settle into the game but unfortunately had their pockets picked in the 39th minute against the run of play.
It finished 1-1 after the first 45 minutes but the second segment was even more rewarding for Cameroon.
Cameroon spent much of the second segment in the Panama half and scored through Meva and Brenda in the 74th and 90th minutes to win it by 3-1, deservingly so.
Tabe scored the player of the match award in an after she didn’t just score a brace but played very well.
The win takes Cameroon’s points tally in the competition to five points obtained from a win in open play and a penalty shoot out win against France.
