Cameroon international Ange Gabrielle Bawou has joined Kazakhstani side BIIK Kazyghut from Nigerian side Bayelsa Queen Ladies FC.
Photos of the player putting pen to paper at the Kazak club first surfaced on social media this Sunday before kick442.com obtained first hand details that revealed she has joined the club on a one-year-deal with an option for another year.
The move ends Bawou’s two-year stay on the books of the Nigerian club and provides her a first chance to display her knowhow in Europe at the age of 23.
Bawou arrives her new club with a lot of experience and potential to impact immediately. The former Cameroon youth international counts 13 caps with the senior team and was first choice keeper during the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco. In addition, she has won the domestic championships in Cameroon and Nigeria and played in the Women’s CAF Champions League finals last season in Morocco.
BIIK Kazyghut are current leaders of the Kazakhstani championship with nine points from their opening three games.
The Nigeria Women’s Premier League goalkeeper of the 2022 season could make her debut for her new club when they welcome Aktobe in match day three of the title playoffs.
