Crested Cranes midfielder Anita Namata was the star hero on Sunday afternoon after Vihiga Queens clinched the FKF Women’s premier league title.

A brace against Nakuru City in a 2#1victory saw the Kenyan Giants crowned the 2022/23 champions with one game to spare.

The win means Vihiga move four points clear ahead of second placed Gaspo who were held to a 2-2 stalemate by Wadadia.

Vihiga now lead the log on 52 points while Gaspo on 48 mathematically making it impossible for the close competitors.

Gaspo needed to win to delay Vihiga Queens title celebrations to the last match of the season where the two will face each other.

It’s a win for Uganda duo Anita Namata and Winnie Babirye who joined the side in January.

The team will automatically represent Kenya at the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions league.
