Soh Magloire Simplis has stepped down from his role as the head coach of Panthere Sportive SA of Bagangte barely hours after helping the club secure a return to the top-flight championship and causing huge celebration back in Bangante.
The experience gaffer completed arguably one of the greatest feats of his career on Sunday via a 7-0 demolition of Dragon of Yaoundé in the final game of the 2023/24 MTN Elite Two promotion playoffs though he wasn’t in the dugout.
Four goals from Mbang Symplice, Willy Gregory Essomba, Kinde Leonard and Aaron Loana Nollan ensured Panthere obtained a 7-0 victory against Dragon and made it four wins in seven.
Strange enough, just after the game coach Soh who didn’t manage the last two games from the dugout announced his departure just after.
“My job here is done and it is time for a new challenge. I will start a new challenge wherever my plane lands,” he told kick442.com in a telephone chat.
Panthere earn promotion as runners-up in the playoffs after achieving 14 points, two less than champions and fellow MTN Elite One newbies Aigle Royal of Moungo.
The coach who previously managed PWD of Bamenda, also took Bafmeng United to elite two last season left just before the start of the season.
His time at Panthere has been amazing and pundits are anticipating he returns to management soon with the likes of PWD of Bamenda amongst others rumoured to be a possible destination for the Cameroonian ‘special one’.
Panthere must get a new trainer before the start of the next season in the months ahead.
