Indomitable Lion of Cameroon’s Captain and Al Nasser forward, pulled out an assist in Al Nassr’s 2-0 win over Al-Adalah in the King Cup of champions round of 16 game on Thursday, December 22.
The prolific striker came off the bench at the 63rd minute and assisted Sami Al-Najei to scoring the second goal at the 85’.
With just about 22 minutes of being involved in the game, the 30-year-old forward made an impact in the game by contributing to the already 1-0 lead to make it two.
Aboubakar at the 77th minute, scored a goal which was overruled by the VAR for being an Offside goal. That was just 14 minutes of his game time and it took him just eight more minutes to make the assist.
Fresh from participating at the just ended 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where he made a huge impact in Cameroon coming back home with 4 points, this was Aboubakar’s welcome back game which he proved he is still in form with the remaining Energy brought back from the world football set piece.
This is a man who earned respect from CAF’s for making Africa proud with the way he changed Cameroon’s games against Serbia and Brazil especially the manner in which he scored his two goals at the tournament.
Two stunning goals that could not go unnoticed as that which he scored at during Cameroon’s 3-3 draw against Serbia coming off from the bench, is nominated amongst the best goals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.
Vincent Aboubakar joined the Saudi Arabian side in June 2021 on a three-year-deal from Besiktas and has made over 32 appearances, scoring 11 goals.
