Samuel Eto’o lauds Traore’s efforts towards Faso football

The President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto’o Fils had an audience with the Transitional President of Burkina Faso on May 29,in Ouagadougou and lauded the strides make by Captain Ibrahim Traore, in the promotion of football in his country.

Eto’o arrived Burkina Faso on Saturday on the special invitation of the Burkina Faso Football Federation President to participate in the finals of the national Football Cup.

The Cameroon FA boss, could not hide his sentiments, in an interview granted to the Burkinabé national press.

“I was marvelled to hear the President talk about football with much passion and energy, despite his busy schedule at the service of the nation. I wish to congratulate him for the enormous efforts invested in the promotion of football, especially on the Burkina Faso senior men’s national football team”.

Burkina Faso stands to be among the West African nations, qualified to part-take in the prestigious 2023 giant African soccer Jamboree, slated for Ivory Coast. And will always be remembered for their incredible performance during the last TotalEnergies African Nations Cup on Cameroonian soil.

“The Burkina Faso side, is a great football team to watch out for, during the Ivorian AFCON, cognisance of the fact that, she has a very young and dynamic team, reputed for giving tough times to her opponents,” Eto’o concluded.

Beyond the political framework, the bilateral relation between Cameroon and Burkina Faso exist football, after the Stallions had failed to grab the third place against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, in the third place fixture of the AFCON in Cameroon.
