Royal Air Maroc has announced it will operate two special charter flights to transport Moroccan football fans to Chile for the FIFA U-20 World Cup final, as the national team prepares for a historic appearance in the tournament’s showpiece match.

The flights, scheduled to depart from Casablanca to Santiago on Sunday, aim to allow supporters to witness the young Atlas Lions play in their first-ever U-20 World Cup final.

Dreamliner Deployment

The Moroccan national carrier will mobilise two Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for the operation, offering a total of approximately 600 seats. Return tickets are being offered as part of a fixed package at 10,000 dirhams (approximately £800), including taxes and a free ticket to the final match.

The flights are non-refundable and non-changeable, with both outbound and return journeys tightly coordinated around the timing of the final.

Matchday Logistics

The first flight is scheduled to leave Casablanca at 02:30 local time on Sunday, arriving in Santiago at 10:30. A second flight will follow an hour later, arriving at midday. Return flights will depart Santiago in the early hours of Monday morning.

RAM said it would extend the opening hours of its booking offices to meet the expected surge in demand, staying open until 22:00 on Friday and operating all day Saturday.

Visa Requirements

Supporters exempt from Chile’s visa requirements or already in possession of a valid visa can proceed directly with ticket purchases. Others must first complete an online visa application via the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and receive confirmation before finalising bookings.

A Moment of National Pride

Morocco’s progression to the U-20 World Cup final marks a significant milestone in the country’s footballing history, and the move by RAM underscores growing national support for youth development in sport.

The special operation echoes previous efforts by the airline to support Moroccan fans during major international tournaments, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The final will take place in Santiago on Sunday, with Morocco set to face Argentina, a six-time U-20 World Cup champion.
