Head coach Rigobert Song will be having a press conference on the set date with different media organs to not only reveal his final list but also put in an explanation to his choice of players for Côte d’Ivoire 2023.
He follows the streak of trainers to reveal their final squad this December. Opponents Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mauritania among others have already trimmed down their provisional squad.
The press conference will be the start of the Lions’ preparation for this biennial competition, as the technical crew is expected to jet off to their camping ground in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, December 30.
A pre-AFCON friendly with Zambia on Tuesday, January 9 will cap off team Cameroons preparations.
The team who are one of the leaders in group C will kick off their campaign against Guinea in Yamoussoukro on January 15, 2023.
Cameroon, just like all other 23 participants, aspire to win Côte d’Ivoire 2023. Despite their absence on the list of favorites tipped by pundits and football icons, the Indomitable Lions hope to roar their way into the finals and why not secure a sixth AFCON trophy.
