Paris Olympics : Local players dominate as Uganda names provisional squad for Rwanda clash.

The Uganda National Women’s team has summoned the provisional squad for the CAF Olympics qualifiers contest against neighbors Rwanda.

The team composed of 35 players ,has 5 goals keepers ,11 defenders ,8 midfielders and 11 forwards.

Notable senior players Fauzia Najjemba,Sandra Nabweteme,Fazila Ikwaput ,Ruth Aturo and Joan Nabirye make the cut.

2022 WAFCON faces like Tracy Jones , Yudaya Nakayenze ,Ritah kivumbi,Viola Nambi , Sheebah Zalwango, Riticia Nabbosa haven’t been named.

Largely dominated by home based players who are 28 in number. U-18 Captain and FWSL MVP Shakira Nyinagahirwa is on.

New entrants like She Kataka defender Desire Natooro who comes as a surprise , and Cardinals forward Ashiat Naluggwa receives her first national call.

The team is expected to enter to camp tomorrow at Cranes Paradise Hostel ,Kisasi. Uganda hosts the first leg on 11th next month.
