African champions, South Africa secured a 2-0 win against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the Second Round return leg match of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers on Monday.
The first leg had ended in a 1-1 draw last week ahead of the return leg at the Orlando Stadium.
A second half brace from Thembi Kgatlana lifted South Africa to victory.
The Banyana Banyana created lots of goal scoring chances which were not converted with the scoreline goalless after the first period.
Racing Louisville player, Kgatlana broke the deadlock for Desire Ellis’s side in the 71st minute.
She doubled the lead for the African champions in the 88th minute to seal the win.
South Africa earned a 3-1 win on aggregate and will face either Tanzania or Botswana in the third round.
Tanzania holds a 2-0 lead over Botswana after the first leg.
