Paris 2024: Black Queens put a foot into next round after win over Benin

Ghana senior women’s national team cruised to a 3-0 win against Benin Republic in the first leg of Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifiers in Cotonou on Friday.

Grace Asantewaa was brought down as a penalty award to Black Queens in the second-round clash.

Doris Boaduwaa opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 44th minute.

Gifty Assifuah in the 73rd minute capitalised on a defensive error to get Ghana’s second goal of the evening.

Assifuah cruised to her second of the evening in the 73rd minute to seal a 3-0 win.

The return leg will be held next week in Ghana.

The winner of the game on aggregate will face Zambia in the third round.

Zambia walked over withdrawn Mali in the second round.
