Eben Tomi has signed a new and first professional contract, penning a deal which will keep him at ISOHSA until the summer of 2025, though the club aims to move him abroad before then.

“We are happy to have reached an agreement with Eben, one which ensures he remains part of our project,” a club statement announced the deal on Wednesday.

The winger, who has been part of the club set-up for two seasons joined two years ago from Nkamanyi FI and has not looked back since then.

Eben recently helped ISOHSA emerge champions of the national interpools through his two goals and one assist in five appearances in the competition.

This followed a season he had been telling for the club in the league and the historic run to the 16 final of the cup of Cameroon.

Hailing from Kumba, Tomi enjoyed a superb 2022/23 campaign and was a key component of ISOHSA’s squad which lifted the Southwest Regional championship to earn the Interpools berth and went on to excel last month in Yaounde.

He scored twice in the fourth group game and his first start of the tournament against Academie Nyom 2 before assisting Egbe Tiku’s opener in the 2-0 win against Pouma FC in the semi-final of the interpools.

Reflecting on his new deal, the 20-year-old said he was thrilled to have committed his long-term future to the Club and says that he is determined to keep improving in the coming years.

“It is a very proud moment. It is a dream come true and I think my family are thrilled too,” Eben told kick442.com

“Obviously when I used to go to the park with them to play football when I was little, we used to always think of moments like this, so we are very happy.

“When joined the club two years ago, it was a bit overwhelming, but I just came over with no pressure and just to play. We had as plan that I move to Elite football this here. Fortunately I am doing it with the club.

“I am still here so I think I have done alright!

“I have progressed pretty well because you are training with the good players everyday. It makes it easy because we are all young players. So I am only going to get better.”

The club also expressed it’s delight about keeping the player.

“He is one of the players that believed in our new vision from the first day. It is only right for him to sign his first professional contract with us. Both the player and our club will now switch our attention to hard-work to ensure we achieve progress and new heights as a club and player within the shortest possible time during the next three seasons.”

Tomi is currently on vacation but will be part of the ISOHSA squad preparing for it’s first season in the Elite 2 championship after a sensational year that saw them emerge champions of the region, interpools and reached the 16 final of the Cup of Cameroon.
