Obie’s Quarter are the champions of the third edition of the Bole Unity Cup after overcoming Centenary FC 3–2 on penalties following a goalless draw in a tense final at the Government Primary School Bole.
The final lived up to expectations as two of Bole’s finest sides battled for local supremacy, but neither team could find the breakthrough during regulation time. The deadlock remained intact until the final whistle, sending the contest to a penalty shootout.
Obie’s Quarter held their nerve when it mattered most, converting three of their spot-kicks while Centenary FC managed two, handing the champions a 3–2 victory in the shootout.
The triumph crowns an impressive campaign for Obie’s Quarter and brings the third edition of the Bole Unity Cup to a fitting conclusion. The tournament was organised to promote football, unity, talent development and community participation in Bole, with the final attracting considerable attention from football lovers in the area.
The champions take home the tournament trophy and FCFA 1 million, while Centenary FC settle for the runners-up prize of FCFA 500,000. Several individual awards were also at stake, including FCFA 50,000 for the Best Player and FCFA 25,000 each for the highest goalscorer and best goalkeeper.
The tournament, donated by Summer Soccer Academy president Malle Kenneth, also featured women’s and junior competitions. Hilltop Strikers won the women’s competition, while Centenary FC claimed the junior title.
For Obie’s Quarter, however, the focus was firmly on the main competition, and their composure from the penalty spot ultimately delivered the biggest prize of the third edition.
After 90 minutes of goalless football, it was Obie’s Quarter who kept their cool when the pressure reached its peak, securing a 3–2 shootout victory and lifting the Bole Unity Cup.
