NWFL Premiership kicks off ahead of NPFL for another season

For another season running, the top-flight Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season kicks off ahead of the men’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The NWFL Premiership for the 2022/2023 season kicked off on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, with six home wins across six centres.

Holders, Bayelsa Queens defeated Rivers Angels 2-0 with Sunday Juliet and Mary Aderemi finding the back of the net for the Prosperity Girls in Yenegoa.

Nkechi Agams’ goal handed Abia Angels a 1-0 win over FC Robo Queens in Aba.

Ayatsea Hembafan was the heroine as her goal propelled Nasarawa Amazons to a 1-0 win against Edo Queens.

Goals in either half from Eberechukwu Oleka and Faith Samson were enough to hand Osun Babes a 2-0 triumph over Royal Queens in Osogbo.

Naija Ratels FC has to come from a goal down to earn a 3-1 win against returning Heartland Queens.

Adamawa Queens also defeated the newly promoted Ibom Angels 2-0.
