Deputy Coordinator of the Cameroon national football team, Herve Roger Mveng and Indomitable Lions team manager Danny Nounkeu and two others have welcomed the first set of four players expected to arrive the country through the Douala International Airport this Monday, September 2.

Jackson Tchatchoua who scored in Hellas Verona’s 2-0 win against Genoa last night, FC Damac’s Georges Kevin Nkoudou Mbida who was picked to replace injured Moumi Ngamaleu, Enow Boris of DC United in the USA plus unattached Fai Collins Ngoran arrived via Brussels Airlines.

The players were received by Nounkeu, Mveng and two other staff who helped them before being kept at the VIP lodge of the Airport from 6pm this evening.

The group of six players appeared on the lenses of kick442.com cameras in a quite buoyant mood as they exchanged with the team officials appointed by the state while their arrival formalities were being completed.

They are expected to be joined by Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, Frank Magri, Bryan Mbeumo, Christopher Wooh, Yvan Neyou, Simon Omossola and Simon Ngapandouetnbu who arrive in under two hours on board an Air France plane expected in Cameroon by 10pm.

We understand, the state has taken special dispositions to move the players from the Douala International Airport to Yaoundé where the others including Andre Onana and Didier Lamkel Ze are expected.

This Pan African Sports News portal can categorically reveal that six of the 24 players expected to camp by coach Marc Brys have checked into their rooms at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé.

We can confirm reports that the staff appointed by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) are also at the Douala International Airport to pick up players, only that the government has mobilized a special military operation which denies them regular access into the arrival deck.

The September FIFA window will mark the beginning of the journey to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). In that regard, Cameroon will host Namibia on September 7 before jetting Kampala for a showdown against Zimbabwe.

The build up to the home game has been characterized by unmatched controversy as the government and the federation differ over the match venue.

As it stands the players have been reserved the La Falaise Hotel in Bonandjo Douala via FECAFOOT while Cameroon’s Ministry of Sports have kept Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé for the same players.

Earlier today, the advanced party for the Namibian delegation arrived Garoua for groundworks before the arrival of their team given that CAF is yet to communicate the change of the match venue from Garoua to Yaoundé even if the infrastructure managers have informed FECAFOOT of their unwillingness to have an event of that magnitude at the Roumde Adja stadium in Garoua.
