Christiane Kiki Meva gave Fortuna the lead just before the break through a superb strike by Meva, Bella made it 2-0 in the 56th minute and Syrielle Mbofewuie added the third in the 67th minute to seal Fortuna’s eighth win of the 2022/23 Guinness Super League season.

AS Fortuna who beat Ngadeu FFA 5-1 in the opening game of the current season in February completed a double against their fellow newcomers following a 3-0 win as the championship resumed this Saturday, after close to a month mid-season break.

Fortuna climbed above Louves Minprof and into the top three of the championship with the win at Ndoumbe Oumar stadium.

Defeat saw Ngadeu FFA remain at the bottom of the table and ease pressure on Caiman Filles and Awa Filles who are just above them in the relegation zone.

Benoit Romeo Otele’s women almost had the lead soon after kick-off when goalkeeper Mireille Bolda rolled the ball short to Flora Sem, who was dispossessed by Rose Layou.

Bolda denied Mbofewuie who received the square ball in the six-yard box.

But forward Meva broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, capitalising on a slack header from Bitada Suzy before putting the ball past Ngadeu FFA goalkeeper Bolda who was injured and taken to the hospital in the process.

Nadege Diane Ndeme preserved Fortuna’s lead by diving low to his left to deny Raissa Fokoua.

Fortuna was on top, playing attractive and attacking football but with no second goal to show for its efforts.

Bella doubled the lead in style with a well-struck curling effort from 15-yards out.

Ngadeu FFA worked hard in the second half but rarely threatened a goal.

Deservingly Fortuna scored the third through Mbofewuie who also scored in the reversed fixture and match day 11.

The game finished 3-0 in favour Fortuna as they registered their eighth win in 12 games, which takes their points tally to 24, just two points behind third place Éclair of Sa’a.
