Mali has secured a 2#0 victory against South Africa in a thrilling Group E encounter at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.

The match, held in Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in the Ivorian city of Korhogo, witnessed Mali’s dominance as the team extended its unbeaten streak in opening games at AFCON.

Hamari Traore scored Mali’s first goal in the 60th minute of the match, while Lassine Sinayoko scored the second goal six minutes later.

Tuesday results added to Mali’s impressive goal-scoring record from the qualifiers of this year’s AFCON, with a total of 15 goals, second only to Nigeria.

Mali’s attacking prowess was on full display, setting a promising tone for their campaign in the tournament.

South Africa, on the other hand, faced challenges in finding the back of the net, continuing their recent struggle to score multiple goals in AFCON matches.

The defeat adds pressure on the team as they aim to navigate through a competitive group.
