Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has praised young Cameroon-eligible midfielder Quentin Ndjantou for his composure and impact since joining the first team, describing the academy graduate as “sensational” and “a great example of PSG’s future.”

The 18-year-old made his competitive debut in PSG’s 2–1 win over Barcelona, coming off the bench to help turn the match in the French side’s favour. Ndjantou was directly involved in the build-up to the winning goal, displaying maturity and confidence on a major European stage.

Following that performance, Enrique handed the teenager his first senior start in the 1–1 draw against Lille, where Ndjantou impressed again with his positional discipline and technical ability in midfield.

Speaking after the match, Enrique praised the youngster’s mentality and readiness for top-level football.

“Our team is very young, and we must congratulate them — particularly Quentin Ndjantou, who showed very strong character,” Enrique said. “I am very satisfied. He was sensational.”

The Spanish coach admitted he felt more nervous than the player before sending him onto the pitch against Barcelona.

“I was more nervous than Quentin before his entry,” Enrique joked. “But he showed the calm and confidence we want from our academy graduates. That’s the mentality that defines PSG’s future.”

Ndjantou’s early performances have strengthened Enrique’s belief in PSG’s academy system, which continues to produce players capable of competing at the highest level.

Born in France, Ndjantou is eligible to represent both France and Cameroon at international level, though he has yet to make an appearance for either country’s senior team.

“We want players who are brave, who express themselves, and who believe they belong here,” Enrique added. “Quentin did exactly that.”

PSG will resume their Ligue 1 campaign after the October international break, with Enrique expected to continue integrating academy talents like Ndjantou alongside the club’s senior stars.
