Former Manchester City defender Lucien Mettomo says the club can complete a historic year if they can keep the performance and winning momentum that they are enjoying lately.

City eased past Sheffield United last weekend in the semi-final of the FA Cup to book an appointment in the final against bitter rivals Manchester United. In addition, they are in a good position in the Premier League title race and face holders Real Madrid in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions next month.

Looking from afar, the defender says the City’s rhythm and hunger will drive Pep’s men to try and win all three competitions they are competing in.

“Manchester City is different from our days, they want to win everything, every match and every trophy, that’s why I believe it they keep their form they can win a treble.

“They are in a great place to win the Premier League again, they also have a good chance in the FA Cup against United and in the Champions League too,”Lucien Mettomo said.

City have two games in hand on Premier League leaders Arsenal and are five points behind going into their meeting against The Gunners on Wednesday.

Mettomo, 46, has remained a keen follower of events in Northwest England, making sure he follows the club he scored one goal in 27 appearances as a City center-back during the 2002/03 season.

Besides City, Mettomo played for Southampton, Saint Etienne, FC Kaiserslautern, Kayserispor among others.

The two-time Africa Cup of Nations winner as a player works for the professional footballers syndicate back in Cameroon.
