  • The Limbe City Council has announced free transportation for fans of Victoria United, affectionately known as “OPOPO,” for their final match in the MTN Elite One Play-Off.
  • The Lord City Mayor, Mr. Paul Efome Lisombe Mbole Ngale, is spearheading this initiative to ensure a strong show of support as OPOPO stands one victory away from championship glory
  • The community is called to gather at the Limbe Community Field at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 18th April 2024, to travel to Stade Mpappe Leppe in Douala and cheer OPOPO to victory

The Lord City Mayor of Limbe, Mr. Paul Efome Lisombe Mbole Ngale, has taken proactive steps to ensure that Victoria United receives the backing it deserves as they stand on the brink of a historic championship victory.

In a significant move to rally support, the City Mayor has arranged for free bus transportation for OPOPO supporters. The buses will depart from the Limbe Community Field at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 18th April 2024, ensuring fans can travel to and from Douala’s Stade Mpappe Leppe without any cost.

The Mayor’s call for total mobilization is not just about filling the stands but also about igniting the collective spirit of the people of Limbe and the South West region. The rallying cry “One People One Power” encapsulates the unity and strength behind the team’s potential triumph.

OPOPO embodies the aspirations of the entire South West region, whose residents are eager to witness their team emulate the achievements of Tiko United in 2009.

With their closest rivals, Yong Sports Academy handicapped, from the title contention, OPOPO’s chances of clinching the championship have significantly increased.

However, there is a growing concern: Will the modest capacity of the Stade Mpappe Leppe, which accommodates approximately 2,500 spectators, be adequate for such a momentous event? This question looms large as the community anticipates a match that could write a new chapter in their sporting history.
